lily's world XD Walkthrough
The full-release route in order. Every stage is named, every locked door has the password that opens it, and each blocker links to the page that explains it in detail.
Quick answer
The full-release route starts on the laptop you find while dumpster diving. The first blocker is the boot login, opened with cat, and the next required milestone is the Study Guide folder, opened with kiterunner. From there the investigation runs through Palster, Seclink, the 5Star forums, the Secret Folder and the Maze Game before the Radiant Path Members Area and the Incident Report close the story.
- Full release on Steam for Windows, released 17 September 2026. The demo build is covered on its own page.
- No source states an official step or chapter count, so this route is grouped into stages that can be checked in the game.
- Ordered main route only. Optional reading, alternate line readings and every possible interpretation are left out.
What you are committing to before stage one
The route is short enough to finish in an evening, but it is built on passwords, and a password you misread stops the whole chain.
The full game is a linear investigation, so you cannot skip ahead by accident: each site or folder opens only after the previous one hands you the clue. That makes the order below the real route, not a suggested one.
Two things are worth fixing before you start. First, several in-game strings are stored in a Y2K-style font where 0 and 8 look alike, so read any number or email twice. Second, a small number of reports describe conflicting letter spacing on two passwords, which is why the variant list later on this page exists.
The route at a glance
Nine stages carry the story from the laptop to the ending. Each one hands over the clue the next stage needs.
| Stage | What you do | Focused help |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Boot the laptop | Answer the hint bubble next to the password field, then enter cat. | — |
| 2. Unlock the Study Guide | Change the blog background, follow the hidden link, answer the book question. | Study Guide password |
| 3. Sign in to Palster | Use Lily's email and the crush-plus-cat-age password. | Palster password |
| 4. Unlock the Seclink chat | Enter the date from Lily's photo as a code. | — |
| 5. Run the 5Star forum chain | Follow Melanie's thread through Hope Therapy, Oberon and the name search. | — |
| 6. Open the Secret Folder | Use the word Iris hides in her Flutter posts. | Superpower clue |
| 7. Play the Maze Game | Finish the forced maze segment and find the hidden word. | Black Light |
| 8. Reset the desktop | Read the recovered files, then sign in to the Radiant Path Members Area. | — |
| 9. File the Incident Report | Enter both IDs, review the report, then share the files. | Incident Report |
The ending itself is a single reply, and it decides which of the two ending achievements you unlock. That fork is compared on the Radiant Path choice page.
Stage 1: booting the laptop
The game opens with you finding a computer and having no way in. The first password is the smallest one in the game.
- Look at the login screen before typingThe password field has a small question-mark bubble beside it. Clicking it asks which animal is Lily's favourite, which is the whole hint.
- Enter the boot passwordType
cat. Capitalisation does not matter here, and the desktop wallpaper repeats the same answer if you want visual confirmation. - Read the desktop onceYou land on the main desktop with Email, Web, Messenger, Study Guide, Secret, Photos, Journal, Audio, Notes, Dress Up Game and Calculator. Study Guide and Secret are locked for now.

Stage 2: the Study Guide folder
This is the first real clue chain and it ends with a book title, so it is worth doing properly instead of guessing.
The clue is not in a folder. Change the background colour on Lily's blog, and a hidden address appears that leads to an emoji page spelling out a three-word instruction about her favourite book. The answer is the book itself, and Iris or Lily's Palster bio will name it if you have not read it yet.
Enter kiterunner as one word. Several sources transcribe the demo version with a space, so if the field rejects it, try kite runner before checking your spelling. Opening the folder gives you two recordings and an updated Web Watch page, which is the signal that stage two is finished.
Stage 3: Palster and the first account login
Palster is the game's social network and the first place where a clue sits in one window and the answer belongs in another.
The account name is an email address, and the password is built from two personal facts rather than a word. The Drafts folder in Lily's email states the two ingredients, and the Audio app and her journal supply the values.
Signing in opens Lily's profile, her photo albums and the friend list that stage 5 depends on. The exact address, the two clues and the accepted format are on the Palster password page.
Stage 4: Seclink and the photo date
Seclink is an encrypted chat between Lily and Iris, and the code comes from a photograph rather than a message.
Open the red-dress photo in Lily's gallery and read the date printed on it: 25 March 2003. The chat accepts that date as a single string of digits, and the two accepted orderings are covered in the format traps below.
The unlocked conversation is where the cult thread starts. Iris is already suspicious of the Radiant Path, and the archived messages are the ones you will quote back to yourself at stage 9.
Stage 5: the 5Star forum chain
This is the longest stretch without a password, because it is a reading stage that hands you three more names.
- Iris sends you two forum boards. Open the Radiant Path board and read the thread asking whether the group is a cult.
- The thread leads to Melanie, whose posts carry the earliest version of the story outside Lily's own files.
- Melanie's links take you through the Hope Therapy Centre and then Oberon Plastic Surgery, which is where a patient record chain begins.
- The Oberon code
ETAN8corresponds to a date of birth of04/08/1968, which resolves to the name the game wants. - Follow the people-search site until the same person appears under more than one name. That identity is the thread the rest of the game pulls.
Keep the browser tab open when you finish. The 5Star board is the source of one of the two codes you type at stage 9, and coming back for it later is more work than noting it now.
Stage 6: the Secret Folder and the Diet Log
The Secret Folder password is the one password the game never hints at on the desktop. It is written in Iris's own posts.
Read Iris's Flutter account until the highlighted post gives you the word. The full trail, the accepted spelling and what to do if you cannot find the post are on the Superpower clue page.
Inside the folder, the Diet Log is the item that matters: it names a private project for Iris and points at the Maze Game. Read it before you leave, because the game will move you on without asking.
Stage 7: the forced Maze Game segment
The maze is not optional. The desktop hands control to it, and the hidden word inside is the last piece of mid-game lore.
Walk the purple path to the yellow square to finish the required section. The hidden word sits off that path, in the upper-left area of the board, and the Black Light page has the exact route if you want it.
Call Iris afterwards. The conversation that follows the maze is short but it is where she mentions the pens, and that detail matters if you are chasing the optional lore rather than just the achievements.
Stage 8: the reset and the Members Area
After the bedroom scene the laptop resets, and the game hands you a new set of accounts to break.
Read Web Watch and the Recovered Files in the new desktop state before you go online. Then sign in to the Radiant Path Members Area with the address the blacklight photo revealed.
Inside, the knowledge check at the Commune takes a five-digit answer built from the group's own history, and the Retreat Schedule and member pages carry the two identifiers you need at stage 9. Without the Commune code the Ohio Site stays closed.
Stage 9: the Incident Report and the ending
The last stage is two ID fields, one report, and one sentence to Iris that decides your ending.
Open the Incident Report on the Ohio Site and fill in both required fields. The manager ID is built from the commune manager's name and comes from the Retreat Schedule, and Lily's subject ID is built from hers and comes from the Life After Cults forum. Field labels vary slightly between transcriptions, so check the Incident Report page if a field name does not look familiar.
Reading the report is what makes the ending land, and the Share Files button is the point of no return for this playthrough. Both endings are reachable in a single save file only by replaying the final reply, which the Radiant Path choice page explains.
The four strings players get wrong
Each of these has two spellings in circulation. Type the first one; if the game rejects it, try the second before assuming you are wrong.
- The Palster email:
[email protected]. One guide transcribes it with two digits reversed as008. The Y2K font is the reason, and the long form with two eights is the version the majority of sources use. - The Study Guide folder:
kiterunneras a single word in the full release, withkite runnerrecorded for the demo build. - The Seclink code:
03252003in month-day-year order, with20030325used by sources that write the date year first. Both describe 25 March 2003. - The report IDs:
LH-2834andCA-1947with the hyphen, andLH2834andCA1947without it in some transcriptions.
Achievements along the route
The full release lists seven achievements. Five unlock automatically as you follow the stages above; the last two are the ending fork.
| Achievement | When it unlocks |
|---|---|
| Dress up game | Finishing the dress-up game on the desktop. |
| Unlock study guide | Opening the Study Guide folder at stage 2. |
| Secret folder | Opening the Secret Folder at stage 6. |
| Complete maze game | Reaching the yellow square at stage 7. |
| What now? | Reaching the end of the mid-game sequence after the maze. |
| Expose the Radiant Path | Replying that you would rather expose them at the end. |
| Take revenge on the Radiant Path | Replying that you should do it at the end. |
Steam lists the pair in lower case as Expose the Radiant Path and Take revenge on the Radiant Path, while most guides capitalise the group's name inside them. The same two unlocks are meant either way.
The ending pair needs two passes through the final reply. Nothing else on the list is missable, because every other achievement fires on the main route.
If a step stops working
Three things account for most stuck saves on this route, and only one of them needs a replay.
- A rejected password is usually a spacing problem, not a wrong answer. Re-read the string that failed, then try the variant listed above.
- If the in-game browser will not leave the top of the screen, save and reload before you retry the puzzle you were on. A known report describes the browser window parking over the desktop icons.
- If the ending does not trigger after you share the files, check whether you are on a save made before the developer's June demo fix, which addressed one save-specific case of the ending failing to fire.
